Welcome to Hepworth Junior and Infant School

HEPWORTH J & I SCHOOL

Hepworth J & I School aims to give pupils the best possible start in life. We want our pupils to be kind, caring and thoughtful. They are taught to look after each other, look after their village and to think about what they can do to help the wider world and planet.

Our school is a community where the partnerships between governors, staff, parents and pupils are valued. These relationships are the key to success. We also value the support we receive from the wider community within the village. Hepworth is a happy, vibrant school!

In 2020 Hepworth became a Green Flag Eco School for the first time. This is something we are passionate about. Our school eco-council meets regularly to discuss how to make our school more environmentally friendly. We also run community eco projects such as village recycling and tree planting.

Our school is set in wonderful grounds, which we use to stimulate learning and as the basis for our curriculum. We have our own woodland, pond, dog, running track, bees and adventure trail which we use in our curriculum. We like to get children outside as much as possible.

We are proud of the sports provision we offer pupils. We offer a wide range of lunchtime and after school clubs each term and ensure pupils have the opportunity to compete (and win!) in as many of the Pennine sports competitions as possible. A healthy child is a happy child!

At Hepworth we believe in developing the 'whole child'. We offer a wide range of interests to make learning as individual as possible. Children can find talents in music, a variety of sports, drama, cooking and art amongst many other things. Our academic expectations are high; we want all pupils to achieve their potential in all subjects. Our dedicated and talented staff work hard to create well rounded, confident, lifelong learners who want to achieve great things in life.
